Glasgow Children's Woodland
Glasgow Children’s Woodland: 4th – 7th October
There's a big event happening this October 2021 on the lead up to the UN Climate Summit. The children of Glasgow are transforming a 13-hectare site into an amazing woodland with their baby oak trees which will benefit everyone in the city.
The Lost Woods team is organising a 4-day event and is inviting every school to send a small group of children to represent their school. The site will be mapped out like a map of Glasgow with each school getting a designated plot. Transport and trees will be provided along with educational sessions from key partners.
The Glasgow Children’s Woodland site lies next to Cathkin Braes Country Park and the communities of Castlemilk and Carmunnock.
This new native woodland aims to contribute towards the Central Scotland Green Network vision of enriching the environment of central Scotland, benefiting local communities and wildlife, and helping to mitigate against climate change.
Transport will be provided along with educational sessions from key partners. Join us to plant an oak tree and help make history!
This invitation is open to all Glasgow primary schools only. If your school falls into this bracket, please follow the link to sign up below.
